1. Usage rights
The Customer or the Authorized Users are granted the simple, non-exclusive, non-transferable right, limited to the duration of the subscription (e.g. Structurae Plus), to use this Structurae Data Material in accordance with the following terms and conditions.
1.1 Personal use
The Customer or the Authorized Users are entitled to use the Structurae Data Material for personal use, provided that this does not directly or indirectly serve profit-making or commercial purposes.
1.2 Education (teaching and learning)
a) The Customer or the authorized users are entitled to copy, distribute, make publicly available, or otherwise publicly reproduce the Structurae Data Material for the purpose of illustrating teaching and instruction at the respective educational institution for non-commercial purposes
- for teachers and participants of the respective event,
- for teachers and examiners at the same educational institution as well as
- for third parties, insofar as this serves the presentation of teaching, teaching or learning results at the educational institution, including self-presentation, e.g.
- in the context of internal/external events for non-commercial purposes (e.g. conferences, meetings, competitions, Olympiads, etc.)
- on a website of the respective educational institution for the purpose of its self-presentation along with providing insights into teaching and learning at this institution
b) The Customer or the authorized users are entitled to duplicate, distribute, make publicly available, or otherwise publicly reproduce the Structurae Data Material for the purpose of creating and presenting scholastic or scientific works (e.g. dissertations, post-doctoral theses, project and diploma theses, professional articles, presentations at professional conferences or other contributions written in the educational context)
- on/in own websites/databases for non-commercial purposes
- on/in websites/portals/platforms/databases/intranet of own educational institution (e.g. university library, campus library) for non-commercial purposes
- on/in websites/portals/platforms/databases/search engines of third parties with educational/scientific relevance (libraries, research portals) for non-commercial purposes
- in scientific publishing publications (e.g. journals, reference books, conference proceedings), whether in print, digitally, or online, whereby the printed circulation must not exceed 3000 for reference books.
1.3 Science (Research)
a) The Customer or the Authorized Users are entitled to reproduce, distribute, make publicly available, or otherwise publicly reproduce the Structurae Data Material for the purpose of non-commercial scientific research at research institutions or for their own scientific research.
b) The Customer or the Authorized Users are entitled to use the Structurae Data Material in scientific data evaluations, which also contain material from other sources, and to present it in numerical or graphical form and to make these evaluations accessible and publish them in the sense of 1.2.
2. Other Terms and Conditions
Structurae’s General Conditions for Subscriptions to Structurae (https://docs.structurae.net/en/legal/terms-subscriptions/) shall also apply and, in particular, the general license terms and restrictions for the use of the Structurae Data Material set forth therein.
